The “Sensitizing Children and Youth in Human Rights: Appreciating the rights and humanity of others.” is a workshop held to equipped young and newcomer Journalists on basic awareness and knowledge of human rights that would reflect on the various stories that they would produced.
The worshop was held in Astoria Plaza Suites in Ortigas Center in Pasig City. The four-day workshop last May 9-12 aims to upgrade the attendees’ skills in television reporting.
The workshop was graced by Hope Abella a noted child rights advocate. Cheche Lazaro who spoke on the power of media and the duty of the reporters to be balance, fair and truthful. The United Nations Childrens Fund (Unicef) Communications Director Dale Rutstein is also one of the speakers.
All the speakers explained the concept of human rights and gave a situationer on the current human rights situation in the Philippines touching on children and women’s rights, economic social and political rights issues. (Source: Click Here)
